Try their Schiavino, Black label aged in oak – superb!

Also visit the Enoteca in Vignale Monferrato for the best wines and grappa in Piemonte. This is the best enoteca in the whole of the Monferrato region.

It is located in Palazzo Callori, which dates back to the 15 th century. Adjacent to the palace is the ancient chapel dedicated to Don Bosco with a small and delightful vineria (wine bar). Here you can sit with a glass of wine and admire the magnificent views over the Monferrato countryside.

If you wish to visit the home of grappa, this is to be found in Altavilla , 5 minutes from the house where the distillery of Filippo Mazzetti can be found, together with the ‘Grappa museum’, where the Mazzetti family have been making grappa for more than 170 years.
